I can still remember the smell of fried bacon, homemade biscuits and fried apples waking me up in the morning when I was a child. Some of the best memories I will ever have came from here. Gathering eggs in the morning from the chicken coops, helping milk the cows, drawing water from the well, were just a few things I will cherish. I can still picture my grandmother, (Mamaw) wearing her dress, apron and bonnet picking green beans from their garden and taking a needle and thread and inserting each bean onto that thread, then hanging them on the front porch to dry out. They were called shuck beans. There was a small pond running through the yard where I learned to catch “crawdads”.

:Yes, life really meant something back then and family was everything.
