By: Kirsti https://backroadsliving.com/cuckoo-maran/#comment-38438 Wed, 29 Jan 2014 23:42:50 +0000 https://chickenreview.com/?p=888#comment-38438 i have a 4 year old Cuckoo Maran who is THE best pet chicken i have ever had! she loves to sit on my lap and snuggle into my hair….and to also pick at my hair with her beak. i had to give her up last July when i moved from NC to OH and i thought i would never see her again! it was a very sad day. but i have been able to get her back (along with her hatchmate friend….and Easter Egger named Ginger)!! well Cricket (my Cuckoo Maran) STILL remembered me after being separated from me for over 6 months! it was as if no time had passed! she snuggled with me and kept looking at me etc when she first arrived in OH. it IS true that she is NOT the best egg layer (to say the least)……but she has a free ride through life and i hope she lives many many more years.
