I buy Jumbo eggs at Walmart and most of the time over half are double yolk eggs.love them

I read your statement on the double yoke eggs not being fertile.. Well I’m saying yes they can be an yes I’ve hatched many of them in an incubator with great reward. I have hatched a 3 yoker as well. Just an FYI

In reply to sandra overall. I grew up in the country and always had fresh farm eggs, fresh milk, etc. Hard to get them now. Just last week, my mom sent me a dozen and there were 3 DOUBLE YOLK EGGS !!! in the dozen. WOW!! They were great!! Glad to hook up to your site. Love the pics and ideas!!

I had only seen a few in my lifetime, but right before we moved to Colorado in 2003, we had a whole carton full of double yolk eggs. I couldn’t believe it, but every time I cracked an egg, BAM! Another double yolk. We took it as a sign from God that we were supposed to move, and were coming into abundance of blessings. Not sure how many I’ve seen since. But I love it when I do!

When I was a teenager my younger brother was collecting the eggs and brought a very large one in the house. My mother cracked it and there were 2 yolks and another egg still in the shell! She called the newspaper and they came and took a picture of my brother holding the skillet with this unusual egg and double yolk egg. The newspaper made the comment, “The hen suffered no ill effects”. I have never seen such a thing since.

I love to find the double yolks. I like the yellow more than the white. It gives me a better egg to enjoy.
