Use Croissant dough and bake!!! I brush my crust with melted butter and then sprinkle with sugar!! or sprinkle with powdered sugar after baking!!

I make my own biscuit dough and I use dried apples if I have them which I usually do for I try to dry them every summer. They are delicious. I usually make several and freeze some on a cookie sheet and bag them for later use.

My father use to make these often. He has been gone for a few years now and I miss him so very much. Just seeing the picture of the pies brought back many happy memories of my Dad, not to mention remembering how yummy these fried pies are. He never showed us how to make them, so now, having this recipe, I will have to give it a try!! Thanks so very much for posting!!

In reply to Linda Simpson. My step mom & us girls use to make these back in the 60's & we used canned apple pie filling, even blueberries & black berries, & cherry. And we used instant pudding mixes if we didn't have puddings made from scratch, either will do good, they r all good, coconut, chocolate, lemon, etc... then we wrapped them up in wax paper stapled them shut, & us kids would go around to businesses like the library, or places like that & sold them. It was fun, it taught us a good skill & we made extra money, too. U can also sprinkle a little white powder sugar on them if u want or drizzle a little icing over them. Enjoy!!
