My family has a tradition of “Pie Night” the night before Thanksgiving when a large number of us gather and bake pies and drink coffee and enjoy spending time in a way that we won’t have time for on the big day. Last year we invited neighbors, too. It’s a wonderful tradition begun by my then 9 year old niece.

Some of the things I love about Fall is the beautiful colors of the trees changing, sitting around an open fire on a cool night with friends visiting, and feasting on Pumpkin Pie. YUM YUM

In the fall, we always go pumpkin “hunting” and bring home a number of nice small sweet baking/cooking pumpkins. My daughter has become quite the baker and although I still make the pie, she makes everything else including a great pumpkin roll which everyone loves! – and all from the fields!
