I was really disappointed when I read “preheat oven” as from the title “Skillet Cake” I figured you were cooking in a skillet on the stove top, no oven needed as I do not have an oven.

Perhaps an honest title would have been, bake a cake in a skillet instead of a cake pan!

I am loving to read your post. Made from scratch , Oh yea ! When flour was good , sugar was pure, the fresh home made butter, ,milk fresh from the cow, and lets’s not forget those farm fresh eggs . Bake something in the old cookstove ovens . They baked golden biscuits, cakes , pies, and cornbread. Nothing now even compares to to what we enjoyed then. Thanks for sharing .
