If you still want to use boxed cake but on a healthier spectrum than conventional boxed cakes, try SimplyNature Organic brand. 🙂

Hi Linda, Peel and slice into 8th’s then layer them on top of the mix and add a cup or cup and a half of juice from the others. They will sink into them mix. This is normal. Bake and watch until the top browns good!

I have about 8 peaches that are ripening too fast, but don’t know how to incorporate them into this recipe. I’d like to use them in this, but I’m at a loss as to how. Blessings back to you.

Hi Emma, The cake mix is intended to be used dry, hence the term, “sprinkle” is used. Sorry I did not explain it further. I hope you get to fix this, you will really enjoy it.

Question: You pour the ” dry” cake mix over the peaches? Or, do you prepare the cake mix? Thank you!

I always used home canned peaches I guess they have more syrup than a regular can of peaches. This is probably why I never had that problem. Yes, add extra butter and this should help with the dryness and spots. I am so sorry, The recipe called for canned peaches and we always had home canned so I had not tried the store bought ones. We didn’t figure many folks had access to home canned peaches and is the reason we did not mention that. I did not realize this.

Here is a link to a yellow cake mix from scratch. It is a easy recipe. https://goo.gl/oGV39U Use fresh peaches if you can find them. Use unsalted butter or fresh churned butter if you can find it… Thanks.

Well Kim, You can use this recipe for the cake, https://goo.gl/oGV39U#sthash.gnfSxZxE.dpuf. Go find you some home canned peaches or pick some or buy them at the farmers market and use churned butter if you can find it. this should produce you a homemade from scratch peach dump cake.. Let us know how it turns out for you.. This was a recipe to help folks bake one at home and not have to purchase one at the store. I did not advertise it as a from scratch cake. Just one made at home..
