The Hope of God through Christ Jesus our Lord
If we have this Hope of God through Christ Jesus our Lord then we of all people are most blessed!
HOPE:
1. A feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen.
2. A feeling of trust
I have a desire to see my Saviour and I trust in Him that He is able to do that which He has promised!
When I think of hope I also feel the faith I have in God. Hope is a very close cousin of faith. Our hope is in the returning of Jesus Christ to receive us into His eternal glory.
The book of Titus says we have hope of eternal life.
The apostle Paul was pretty blunt when he said in 1 Corinthians 15:19, if in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.
If we cannot have hope of eternal life what do we glory in? There is nothing left but this life and that leaves us very miserable. If this was all there was, I don’t know if I could face tomorrow or not. Just to think that we work and toil on this earth and in the end die and there is nothing!
I am so glad of the hope I have in God to eternal life through the righteousness of Jesus Christ!
He has become my hope and salvation. He is my peace, my joy and all my being rest in Him! Without Jesus I have no hope!
This is a lively hope. It gives us reason to live and a drive to walk in His spirit of life! The Holy Ghost is our teacher and by His presence we know we have favor with God! If we walk in the light as Jesus is in the light we have fellowship with one with another and God. What an amazing revelation, to have fellowship with God!
1 John 5:14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he heareth us:
When we walk in the spirit we begin walking in the will of God and when this happens we begin to ask for things according to this will.
Romans 8:27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
The hope that we have in God, that glorious appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ! What a day of rejoicing that will be.
1 Thessalonians 4:15-17 15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
When I read this passage of scripture it fills my heart with joy and the hope of my Saviour, Jesus Christ!
My prayer and hope for you is that you can find that peace in God our Father that fills you with the Hope of His coming! Looking forward to that day with great hope and joy unspeakable!
