Uses for Egg Shells. There are several I have listed in this article. I am sure there are more. leave us your comments on how you use them.
You Can crush your eggshells and feed them to your chickens to boost the calcium intake of your flock. You need to use fresh farm eggs for this as we never know what goes into the eggs of a chicken raised in the crowded environment of the chicken houses who produce egg production on a quantity basis. These are intended to have large production and the quality is not always the best.

Did you know people use egg shells in their coffee grounds? Yes, it is true. I have never tried it but there are places that tell you how. Apparently, it helps with the bitterness. If you run out of your good coffee and only have your backup stash in the cabinet. Crush up an egg shell and put it in with the coffee grounds and brew as usual for a less bitter taste. The following paragraph is just a bonus!
Did you know that you can make soft boiled eggs in the coffee maker? Just place the egg or eggs in the coffee pot and let the water drip over them. Let sit for a few minutes, depending on how hard you want them then peel and enjoy. This can be done anywhere including in a hotel if you are staying out of town. Now put the shells in your ground up stash! 🙂
I have found that you can crush up the shells and scatter them around your garden or house to help keep pest like slugs away. They do not like the sharp edges of the egg shells!
It is a little late for me to use this idea this year but I will definitely try it next year. I read you can use eggs shells to help promote the growth of your tomato plants. The egg shells provide calcium and experienced gardeners place a ground egg shell in the bottom of the tomato plant when they transplant them for calcium and it helps prevent Blossom–end Rot.
Egg Shells will also be beneficial in your compost pile as they will add calcium to your compost! Never throw out an egg shell again!
Ok, this may seem a little far fetched but I found an article on using egg shells to help regrow your teeth. The article has a recipe of comfrey root and organic eggshells to re-grow your tooth if you have a cavity! Here is the link, see for yourself! Natural News. Com!
I have also read that you can crush up your egg shells and put them in a jar or whatever you use to water your plants with and this adds calcium to the water making the plants healthier and happier! Be sure to leave the shells covered with water all the time to get the most from your egg shells.
