Homemade Mosquito Trap

Mosquitoes are an evil to contend with. This Homemade Mosquito Trap is handy devise to help keep them away from you when you are outside trying t o enjoy the evening. We all know evenings are the coolest time for us to get out in the summer and it just happens to be the best time for mosquitoes also! They just love to bombard us when we get outside late!

Ingredients for: Homemade Mosquito Trap

  • 1 Cup Water
  • 1/4 Cup Brown Sugar(Regular will work if you don’t have brown)
  • 1/3 oz Yeast
  • 1 Clear 2 Liter Bottle (Like a Clear Plastic Pepsi Bottle)

Directions for: Mosquito Trap

  1. Cut your bottle all the way around just below the neck so both pieces are the same size at the cut.
  2. Mix sugar with hot water to dissolve..After it cools pour into bottom half of bottle.
  3. Add yeast, no need to stir. This will create carbon dioxide. Mosquitoes like this!
  4. Place the funnel (top part) into the bottom part and staple or tape together.
  5. You can hang or set it out away from where you gather for mosquito control.
  6. Change ingredients every 2 weeks.
