Ingredients for Pine Needle Cough Syrup
- 1/2 cup of water
- 1 cup of pine needles
- 1/2 cup of honey
Instructions
- In a small saucepan bring the water to a rolling boil and add the pine needles. Push them down with a spoon so that they are all submerged. Cover with a lid and simmer for five minutes.
- Pour the pine liquid off the needles into a cup. You may wish to pour this through a fine-mesh strainer or a tea steeper. Discard your pine needles and rinse the saucepan of any flotsam and jetsam from the pine needles.
- Return your pine liquid to the saucepan and add your honey. Heat until simmering. Simmer on medium-low heat for another five minutes.
- Pour into a small jar or bottle and leave the lid off while it cools. Once it's cool, put the lid on and store it in the fridge.
Notes
Take one teaspoon every couple of hours as needed, and feel better soon!
