We got up the other morning and as we were milling around the house I heard my wife Sandy tell me to come look out the window. There in the bottom across from the house were these 5 deer. This is a pretty common thing for us as we live in an area that support the breeding of these things like rabbits.
The road we live on has lots of big bottoms with corn fields and a river (Cumberland River) runs the length of it! There is corn on both sides so the deer love the area! We have killed or hit more deer with our vehicles in the past few years than most hunters kill in a lifetime!
These creatures are very pretty and look so lovely to many people but to someone like me who has had one literally stick it’s head in my truck window as it leaped over the guard rail it is more of an aggravation than anything!
Our ferocious Dogs, Sadie and Scooter will lay and watch them graze and never make a sound! Deer ~N~ Dogs don’t normally get along but these are raised around them like pets! They are great watch dogs! All joking aside our dogs are great! If anyone comes around whether we are home or not they let every one know it! They do not like strangers and do not usually let them out of the vehicles unless we are home! I like that! 🙂
Sadie is the white dog and Scooter is the older black dog with greying hair like me! We call him Scooter because his legs are so short that it looks like he is scooting along the top of the ground when he runs! I have been here nearly 20 years now and love the counrty! It is peaceful and quiet most times and rarely do we have visitors. Most of our visitors are wild creatures like, deer, raccoons, opossums, skunks, Fox, Wild turkey, Etc. This is tough on gardens!
Well, I guess that is off my chest now. Just wanted to share the deer and our dogs with ya and add a little information about the area!
