When one thinks about a toasted pecans recipe, we probably never consider the benefits of pecans.

I know when I think about roasted or toasted pecans, I think of cakes and cookies and such. 

Actually my mouth starts watering and if I'm not careful, I could end up looking like a slobbering dog! 

Pecans have many uses and even more benefits.  Lets look at some of the benefits since this toasted pecans recipe is such an easy fix.

  1. The healthy fat content in pecans is very good for maintaining heart health. Good heart health alone should make us consider adding pecans to our diets on a regular basis!

  3. Helps prevent strokes: As pecan nuts are able to lower cholesterol levels that are not needed by the body then it automatically will reduce the risk of disease such as stroke.

  5. Helps prevent cancers, Pecans have an anti-arifagic acid-proliferating properties which means pecans have the ability to bind to certain carcinogenic DNAs. These properties help make the body to be more protected from the risk of cancers.

  6. Slows down premature ageing, Still associated with vitamin E, pecans can help us in slowing down premature aging and making our skin healthy and radiant.

On to the recipe!

Ingredients:

1/4 stick butter

1lb Pecan halves

Directions:

Place butter and pecans in a shallow baking pan. 

Bake at 200 degrees for 1 hour.

Stir every 15 minutes.

Place pecans on a paper towel or an absorbent item and sprinkle generously with salt.
