Cherry Pineapple Dump Cake With Pecans

cherry pineapple dump cake

This Cherry Pineapple Dump Cake with Pecans is as easy as it gets!  The only thing easer would be a no bake version of this cake! I don't think there is one?

This was my first time making this particular cake and I found it very easy to prepare and make.

In the video we did for Youtube, I had a box of 15oz cake mix and used approx. 2/3 of it.

Ingredients for Preparation

1 Can (20 oz) crushed pineapples, drained

1 Can (21 oz) cherry pie filling

1 (9 oz) package, yellow cake mix

1/2 Cup chopped pecans. I fudged a little! 🙂

5 Tsp melted butter

Do This Ahead of Preparing your mix to dump.

Preheat Oven to 350 degrees fahrenheit

Lightly Grease an 8 X 8 Baking Dish

Assembling the Layers for the cake

Layer 1: Spread the pineapples evenly over the bottom of the baking dish.

Layer 2: Cover the pineapples with the cherry pie filling.

Layer 3: Sprinkle the cake mix over the cherry pie filling and using a fork spread it evenly.

Layer 4: Scatter the pecans over the top of cake mixture.

Layer 5: Drizzle the butter over top of the entire mixture.

Bake for 40 - 45 minutes.

We checked ours at 40 minutes and found it would be fine for the whole 45 minutes.

This cherry pineapple dump cake was full of flavor but a bit rich for our taste.  It is still very edible and we will not let it go to waste but it will not get eaten as fast as some others we have baked.

That might be a good thing, eating it slower! 🙂

If you have a favorite recipe, be sure to submit them to us so we can try them also! If you would like, they can be featured in a post on our web site here.

Suggestions for making the cake a little less rich is always welcome!
