Hello everyone, Ever since this weather has changed for the better we have been in a Spring Cleaning mode! We started out by decluttering a lot of old ground cover and plants that we just didn’t care for or felt like we needed anymore. Lots of it we cleared to make it easier for us to mow and cut down on the weed eating. We are getting older and trying to make it a little easier on ourselves.

A few years ago I built up our back yard with landscape timbers and pretty much framed in the entire back yard bank with three tiers or beds the entire length of the yard. We planted these full of pretty flowers and they nearly worked us to death! Our drive has a circle in it and we also had it planted full of flowers and encased in with rock we carried by hand and wheel barrow. Add this to the back yard and we were nearly killed. After a few years of this we started cutting back!

First we took most of the flowers out of the back yard and replaced them with vegetables, Tomatoes, Bell Peppers, Strawberries, etc. After a couple years of the Deer eating them all we gave up on this and removed it all. Now we mow the back yard! 🙂 I know, the title says “Puppy Dogs” and we will get there in a minute. That is a whole nuther story!

The circle became more than we wanted so we started removing flowers and rocks. During the rock removing process we killed 18 Black Widow Spiders! Yes, we have them and if you live in the area you do too. Every time we have taken out a flower bed we kill Black Widows! Yes the circle flower bed is now history and we mow it too. Only thing left is Peonies and a Pink Dogwood! 🙂 no weed eating in there this year!

We made our other flower beds smaller and cleaned up a lot of flowers from around the house.  Less is better. Did I mention we are getting older and need less of this stuff to care for? 🙂

Now to the Puppy Dogs! About three weeks ago we inherited a mother dog, Part Bull Mastiff and Great Pyrenees and her 7 pups! Ouch! they had just opened their eyes and are about the prettiest little buggers you have ever seen. We just couldn’t let them be taken to the shelter! The mother was starved and every bone showing in her poor body but she had taken care of her pups. They we and still are fat as hogs! They are eating two big meals a day now and it is more like slopping hogs than feeding dogs! I look forward to feeding as these little guys dive head fist into the feed pans and you don’t see their faces again until the food is all gone! They get it all over themselves and then sit around and lick each other clean after the meal! Hahahaha..They are so funny!

They are now at the age that we need to find them good homes. There are 4 boys and 3 girls and they will melt your heart. They have the most beautiful faces and eyes. I have a picture of our Dog Sadie here and she stole our hearts when we first saw her. She is the Aunt to these pups. We do not know what the father of these pups are.

We are glad to say we were able to give all the pups to a good home and relocate the mother also! We are so blessed to be able to put them with good people!

~Blessings~
