Apple Pie

This Apple Pie Recipe is a delicious. This is a recipe I got from my mother who has been baking for more years that I have been alive. This is a very good dish and I have eaten this many times. The recipe is a some of this and some of that with a pinch of this and a pinch of that one like granny baked! It has been brought together in cups and teaspoons so you can enjoy it as much as I have.

Ingredients for: Apple Pie

  • 4-5 good sized apples cut into eighths, enough to fill the pie crust. (Yellow Delicious or Granny Smith is what I think she used)
  • 1- 9” Pie crust with top
  • 1/2 Cup flour
  • 1- Cup sugar
  • 2- Tbsp Cinnamon ~ divided (Less if you don’t care much for it)
  • 1- Stick butter cut into thin pats
  • 3/4 Cup brown sugar ~ divided
  • 1- Egg ~ Beaten

Directions for: Apple Pie

  1. Mix apples, Flour, sugar and 1 tbsp cinnamon well and pour into crust
  2. Add pats of butter and sprinkle with ½ cup brown sugar
  3. Cover with crust top and make 4-5 slits for air to escape.
  4. Brush top of crust well with egg
  5. Sprinkle remaining ¼ cup of brown sugar over egg. If you like Cinnamon add remaining cinnamon.
  6. Place on a baking sheet and put in pre-heated oven at 350 degrees.
  7. Bake for 60 minutes ~ check on it around 45 minutes and add aluminum foil if crust is desired look of golden brown so it won’t burn during the last 15 minutes.
  8. You will know it is done if your juices are bubbling through your slits!
