BANANA SPLIT

This Banana Split Recipe is no doubt going to go into your favorite dessert recipe box! Here at Back Roads Living we love desserts! All of my favorite ice creams in one dish! Loaded with ice cream and nuts, how can you go wrong?

I still remember when as a kid these dishes always fascinated me and the looks of them just always brought a smile to my face! Not only delicious but a wonderful picture to behold! Delicious and pretty!

Ingredients for: Banana Split Recipe

1 – Ripe Banana, peeled and halved lengthwise.
1 – Scoop of chocolate, strawberry and vanilla ice cream (See note Below)
2 – Tbsp butterscotch topping.
2 – Tbsp chocolate flavored syrup
1 – Tbsp chopped pecans or walnuts (Either is good)
whipped cream (Best if using the can that sprays)
1 – Maraschino cherries

Note: If all 3 ice cream flavors are not available, 1 or 2 flavors of ice cream can be used.

STEP 1
Ingredients for Step 1: Banana Split Recipe

1 – Firm, large Banana, cut in half lengthwise
1 Scoop each: chocolate, strawberry and vanilla ice cream (Remember “Note” above)

Direction for Step 1

Place the banana halves inan individual dessert dish.
place scoops of ice cream between banana halves.

STEP 2
Ingredients for Step 2: Banana Split Recipe

2 tablespoons bottled butterscotch topping (Optional, See note below)
2 tablespoons chocolate-flavored syrup
1 tablespoon chopped pecans or walnuts
Whipped cream
1 maraschino cherry

Direction for Step 2

Drizzle butterscotch topping and chocolate syrup over ice cream. Sprinkle with nuts; top with whipped cream and cherry.

Note: If you want the desired picture above the butterscotch is necessary. Some folks will use chocolate or butterscotch and leave out the other. You choice.

Variations for: Banana Split Recipe

Cherry Banana Split : Leave out butterscotch. Prepare banana split as directed and drizzle with 2 Tbsp cherry preserves.

Pineapple Banana Split: Leave out chocolate syrup and nuts. Prepare banana split as directed and sprinkle with 1/4 cup drained Crushed Pineapple and 2 Tbsp toasted flaked coconut.
