Fresh Apple Cake
How to make Fresh Apple Cake

This fresh Apple cake is going to be made in a Tube Pan. There are several ways to bake an apple cake as there are several ways to bake many different cakes. There are the Apple Stack Cakes like the “Molassie Stack Cake” on our Blog. We also have an “Apple Upside Down Cake”. The possibilities are just limited to our imaginations.

This  Fresh Apple Cake is so full of wonderful apples I am sure you are going to enjoy it!



So, grab you a bunch of Kitchen stuff like your Mixer, Mixing Bowl, Spatulas, Tube Cake Pan, and a list of the ingredients below and lets get to cooking!

Ingredients for: Fresh Apple Cake

  • 2 Cups Sugar
    3 eggs
    1 Tsp Baking Soda 1 Tsp Salt
    1 Tsp Nutmeg Seasoning 3 Cups fresh apples (Chopped)
    1 Cup Nuts (Chopped, We like Walnuts. Use whatever you like)
    1 1/4 Cup Oil (We use Corn Oil or Vegetable)
    3 Cups Flour
    1 Tsp Baking Powder
    1 Tsp Cinnamon 1 Cup Dates or Raisins) (I like Raisins)
    2 Tsp Vanilla

Fresh Apple Cake

Apples have been incorporated into so many desserts is is impossible to list them all! They are so good and different types work better for different desserts. We would love to hear from you. Directions for: Fresh Apple Cake

  1. In a large bowl, mix Sugar and oil with your electric mixer. Beat at high speed for 1 minute.
    Add eggs 1 at a time and beat well between each addition.
    In a separate bowl mix all dry ingredients.
    Add the raisins or dates to this.
    Add this to the sugar and oil mix.
    Fold in Apples, vanilla and nuts.
    Pour into a well greased and flowered Tube Pan Bake at 325 degrees for approx 1 1/2 hours. Check doneness by inserting toothpick in middle. If it comes out dry it is done.
    Remove to wire rack and cool for 15 – 20 minutes before removing from the pan

Note 1: If you like your apples showing on top like the picture, pour half or your batter into your pan and then layer half of your apples on top of this.  Pour the remaining batter on the apples and add the rest of the apples on top.  This gives you the chunky looking top.

Note 2: Glaze is Optional

Glaze for: Fresh Apple Cake

  • 1 Cup powdered sugar
    1 Tbsp Apple Juice
    Mix well, heat and pour over cake!
