Chess Cake RecipeDelicious and Easy Homemade Chess Cake Recipe. Great for the beginning cook! My mother has made this for years and it became one of my favorites. Actually, she baked a lot of sweets that became my favorites! 🙂

 Now this Homemade Chess Cake Recipe would pretty much be considered from scratch except for the box of cake mix! It still has great flavor and takes some mixing and doing. The crust has to be hand mixed as well as the ingredients being creamed.




This is not just a throw a bunch of mix together and pop it in the oven. Actually, this Homemade Chess Cake Recipe would be a great cake for beginners to work on. It is not to hard but yet takes some work. The beginner would feel a lot of satisfaction fixing their first Homemade Chess Cake from Scratch almost!:)

Ingredients for: Homemade Chess Cake Recipe from Scratch

Crust:

  • 1 Box Yellow Cake Mix
  • 1 Egg, beaten
  • 1 Stick of melted butter

Directions for: Homemade Chess Cake Crust

  1. Mix all three ingredients by hand until well blended. (This will be sticky)
  2. Place in greased 9 x 13 cake pan and spread evenly on bottom and up sides.(Don’t make the sides to greasy or the mix will not stay up)

Ingredients for: Homemade Chess Cake Recipe from Scratch

Filling:

  • 1 lb of powdered sugar
  • 1 8oz box of cream cheese (Room temperature)
  • 2 Eggs beaten

Directions for: Homemade Chess Cake Filling

  1. Mix all ingredients in a large bowl for 5 minutes
  2. Pour into prepared crust and spread out evenly
  3. Bake in Pre-Heated 350* oven for 30 – 40 minutes!
  4. Let cool and serve.

This is a real Chess Cake baked and made to look like a Chess Board! I found it pretty amazing that they made chess players and blocks out of chocolate to create it with. Enjoy and share it with your friends!
