Pork Loin Pulled Pork

There are so many recipes on how to cook Pork Loin Pulled Pork! It just happens to be one of the easiest things you can fix in a slow cooker! Some folks say you can’t get good pulled pork from a tenderloin but if you are using a good slow cooker and add enough liquid, you can have a delicious meat and it will be tender!

Although this recipe usually calls for pork shoulder because of the fat in the shoulder and we know the fat will dissolve and add moisture as this cooks.  We also know you can add your own liquid to get a delicious pulled pork dish.

Just about every time I think of pork and pork loin I think back to the time when I was a child and we raised our own pork.  We would get the pigs in the early part of the year and raise them throughout the summer and we always planted a garden with field corn for the purpose of fattening the hogs in the late summer and fall of the year! In the fall we would always feed them twice a day with corn to fatten them. This always made for some of the best meat ever! I know, some of you cringe at raising and killing your own hogs but trust me, in those days, it was a joy to be able to do this and have fresh meat throughout the entire winter.

The first thing we would do it take a strip of the pork loin fresh from the hog and my mother and sisters would begin cooking. About half way through dressing those hogs they would holler for us to come and get our food! There would be fresh pork loin fried just tender with homemade gravy and biscuits, fried corn, fried apples and honey or molasses with butter! Oh my goodness, what a meal after a long morning of hard work! Well, after this memory I need to get some of this Pork Loin Pulled Pork in the slow cooker!  Enjoy!

Add 1 Cup of Barbecue Sauce, can of root beer or 1 Bottle of Lager Beer, depends on your taste.

A lot of folks swear by the pork shoulder and will not even try Pork Loin.  They claim it would not cook right and yield enough juice to be “Pulled Pork” but more like shredded pork and dry.   Folks who have tried it and like it say it is a delicious dish and when juices like soda, beer, barbecue sauce, etc. are added, it turns out just great! I guess it just depends on what you want to try. I personally am going to try the Pork Loin Pulled Pork!
