Sweet Tea

This Sweet Tea is, oh so good! Many people make this wonderful Sun Tea! We have for many years enjoyed our mothers Sun Tea or as many of us calls it, Sweet tea! I guess the name Sun Tea comes from how it is make by allowing it to strengthen in the pure sunshine! What ever you want to call it, if you enjoy tea you will like this one! Spiced and ready to be enjoyed!

 Ingredients for Sweet Tea / Sun Tea

  • 4 – Quarts cold water
  • 3 – Inches of cinnamon stick
  • 1 – Teaspoon whole cloves
  • 8 – Tea bags

 

The Cinnamon sticks make this classic Sweet Tea spicy! After sitting around and sipping on this I am sure you will enjoy your evening! A tall glass of Southern Spiced Sweet Tea and an evening of good company to share it with is a rare blessing.

Go ahead and get out your Tea bags and Jar, put everything together and make a big batch of this smooth drink! I am sure you are going to be delighted by this tea recipe!

Directions for Sweet tea / Sun Tea

  1. Pour the 4 quarts of water into a gallon jug with a screw on lid.
  2. Break up cinnamon stick into small parts and place with the cloves in a coffee filter, draw up and tie with a string.
  3. Add the tea bags and spice bag to the jar.
  4. Screw on the lid and set in the sun for a full eight hours or until the tea reaches the strength desired.
  5. Remove the tea and spice bags and refrigerate.
  6. Sweeten to taste
  7. Serve over lots of ice and add a wedge of lemon if you desire.
